主のご降誕祭に寄せて
主の御降誕おめでとうございます! 今宵 皆様と一緒にクリスマスを迎え喜
び祝う事ができることを大変うれしくおもいます。この数年来普通にできたこと
当たり前のように思っていたことが、そうではなく有り難いことだと身にしみて感
じてきました。ですから今日のミサは喜びと共に感謝の気持ちをより一層感じなが
ら与りたいとおもいます。
世界では戦争や自然災害にみまわれ 生命が脅かされ 今を生きることに精一
杯の人であふれかえっています。特に戦争は生命の尊厳に対する最悪の人間の所業
です。時代と共に科学技術や色んな分野が発達し 未来は明るく、幸せになると思
っていましたが、現状はどうでしょう？ 世界に目を向けるまでもなく 豊かだと
思っていた日本でも凶悪な事件や貧困問題など悪いニュースが飛び交う毎日です。
そう 便利な産物と引き換えに正しい心を失いつつあるのかもしれません。若い世
代にそのような暗い未来を渡してはなりません。
私達は主に出会い愛すること 許すこと 希望を持つこと など正しい心を
教えられ 実行することを促されています。でも時々その心は萎んで悪い方向へと
行きそうになります。 今日新たに私達の間においでくださった幼子イエスととも
に 私達の心が 強く 優しく 大きく 日々成長していけますように。

On the Feast of the Nativity of the Lord
Merry Christmas!
I am very happy to be able to celebrate Christmas with you all tonight.
Over the past few years, I have come to realize that the things I have been
able to do normally and taken for granted are not so, and that I should be
grateful for them.
So I would like to participate in today's Mass with an even greater sense of
joy and gratitude.
The world is filled with people who are struggling to survive in the present,
with their lives threatened by war and natural disasters.
War, in particular, is the worst human act against the dignity of life.
As time goes on, science and technology and various other fields have developed,
and we thought the future would be bright and happy, but what is the current
situation?
Even in Japan, a country that was once thought to be prosperous, we don't even
need to look to the world; every day we hear bad news about violent crimes and
poverty issues.
Yes, perhaps we are losing our righteous conscience in exchange for convenient
products.
We must not hand such a dark future to the younger generation.
We meet the Lord, and the Lord teaches us to have a right heart, such as to
love, forgive, and have hope, and encourages us to put these things into practice.
But sometimes our hearts weaken and tend to go in the wrong direction.
Together with the baby Jesus who has come anew among us today, may our
hearts grow strong, kind, and large, day by day.
